Carroll Rentz BRANCHVILLE, SC - Mr. Carroll M. "Buddy" Rentz, 85, of Branchville, S.C., passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2013, at the Regional Medical Center. He was predeceased by his wife of 62 years. Julia Mable Rentz and a sister Carrie Harriet Rentz. He is survived by his three daughters, Judy (Charlie) Young, Vicki (Gene) Thomas, and Wendy (Billy) Munn; his grandchildren, Lee (Jamie) Stroble, Brad (Tara) Stroble, Denise Burch, Seth Thomas, Justin Munn, Morgan Munn, Candice (Brian) Barnhart, Cheryl (Matt) Whitfield, Stephanie (Wally) Baird; his great-grandchildren, Kaitlin Stroble, Megan Stroble, Langley Stroble, Agnes (Derik) Winningham, Alex Barnhart, Becca Barnhart, Patrick Baird, Mason Baird, Payne Whitfield, Whitney Whitfield; a great-great-grandchild, Rex Winningham. Special cousins, Richard (Lil) Rentz, Ralph Wallace Rentz, Lyle Rentz, Mary Key Rosier; and a number of nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He is also survived by a very special friend: Murdell Sandifer. Buddy was involved in farming, forestry, and retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a rural letter carrier after 21 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, and cooking. He was a lifelong member of Zion United Methodist Church, and was actively involved with Hunter's Chapel Baptist Church. He was a member of Hunter's Chapel Hunting Club and the Hunter's Chapel Volunteer Fire Department. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. at Zion United Methodist, Branchville, SC, with the Rev. Billy Mew and Rev. Chris King officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Cooner Funeral Home, 287 McGee Street, Bamberg, SC.
