Unfortunately, I was unable to be with you during your hours of bereavement. I too suffered a lost and the funeral was today. But I want you to know that you were in my prayers and I will continue to pray for you that God will strength you. Memories are the most wonderful way to remember our love ones. I became one of Nanny's daughters too and for this I am very greatful to have been a part of her life since the 70's. She was a wonderful mother and lived her life. I learned from her that experience was not what happened to her but rather what she did with those experiences. Love you Nanny, Haze, Myrnal and the rest of the family.

As you begin your final journey to spend time with our maker, you should know that my life and the lives of all those close and dear to me became richer and fuller that day 31 years ago, when you drove the long distance from Charleston to Toronto, Canada, to give me the hand of your daughter, Hazel, in marriage. I want you to know that your motherly love for us these 31 years has kept us together to see your last days on earth. You have gone ahead to prepare for us another home near you where we shall all meet again with you and Dip, and Frederick, and oh, those other of our family who have gone to eternal rest.

I can remember Mother Sherman from a little girl and she was always the same whenever you saw her she loved the young people and Sunday school. I had a deep love for Mother Sherman because not only was she responsible for helping my grandfather( the late Bishop David Joiner), find our current church building but she stood with my grandfather done through the years and didnt let anyone talk about her pastor. Family I pray for your strength during this difficult time and know that God is too wise to make a mistake. God Bless.
