Carrie Peters Obituary

Carrie Peters RIDGEVILLE, SC - Carrie Maxine Peters, 79, of Ridgeville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 27, 2023. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In honor of Carrie, memorials can be made to the Summerville Community Seventh-day Adventist Church, 520 Gahagan Rd., Summerville, SC 29485. Carrie Maxine Peters was the beloved wife of surviving husband, Fred W. Peters, and sister to Gayle, Dortha, Betty, and Robin. Maxine and Fred spent a wonderful 64 years together, where they had two beautiful children, Gary and Whitney. Maxine was the grandmother of three lovely grandchildren: Kary, Paige, and Kristopher, and the great-grandmother to Reesi. Maxine was a member of the Summerville Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was a kind woman who loved to do craft work next to her husband's hobby shop and would assist him in running the store on occasion. While Gary moved away from home, her daughter, Whitney, remained on the property next door with their menagerie of cats, dogs, and horses. The sanctuary in the small town of Ridgeville has been in the family for generations, providing a sense of home and comfort. Her granddaughter, Paige, vividly remembers taking long road-trips to Lake George, New York, to visit her uncle Gary, where they would celebrate his birthday on the water with laughs and fireworks and visit their cousins, Kary and Kristopher. Maxine is survived by her husband, Frederick Peters of Ridgeville, SC; son, Gary Peters of Morehead City, NC; daughter, Whitney Ward of Hendersonville, NC; brother, Robin Tuck of Walterboro, SC; sisters, Dortha Parler of Summerville, SC, Betty Nettles of St. George, SC, Gayle Rudd of Paducah, KY; 3 grandchildren, Kary Sienkiewiez, Kristopher Peters, Paige Dagnan; and 1 great-granddaughter, Reesi Sienkiewiez. She is predeceased by her parents, Mack and Zella May Tuck. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. We take comfort in knowing we will see her again in Heaven, upon Christ's return.
