Carolyn Williams Obituary

Carolyn Jumper Williams MEGGETT, SC - Carolyn Jumper Williams, 91, passed away Friday afternoon May 29, 2015. Carolyn was born August 13, 1923, in Calhoun County SC. She was the daughter of Vandy Saylor Jumper and Carrie Tate Jumper. Coming from a large family was very special to Carolyn. She loved her parents and all of her siblings dearly. She graduated from Columbia College and retired after working many years for Westinghouse Corporation in Hampton, SC. She then enjoyed most of her retirement years living in Barnwell, SC with her husband Robbie, their family and many friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Albert Robert "Robbie" Williams of Barnwell SC, her son James Jerry Gooding, her sister Analda J. Harrell, four of her brothers Kelly Jumper, Ralph Jumper, Frank Jumper, and Phil Jumper. She is survived by her son Cecil A. Gooding Jr. (Jan) of Meggett, SC, her brother Winslow Jumper of Columbia SC, her three sisters Lellan J. Smith of Columbia, SC, Zelda J. Boney of Blythewood SC, and Nell J. Cooke of Columbia, SC, her step-daughter Melody Wilbanks of Barnwell, SC, two grandchildren Regan Wilbanks (Rachael) of Charlotte, NC, and Blake Wilbanks (Jess) of Columbia, SC. She is also survived by her first husband Cecil A. Gooding Sr. of Hampton, SC. Carolyn loved talking and being with friends and family. She particularly enjoyed her wonderful friend of many years, Pippy Tuten of Hampton, SC. In addition she appreciated very much the care and friendship given to her by Gladys Walker of Barnwell, SC. A memorial service will be held June 7, 2015, 3:00 pm at Oak Grove United Methodist Church, Oak Grove United Methodist Church, 303 Oak Grove Rd., Swansea, SC 29160. Carolyn was my aunt and my Godmother. She was a wonderful happy person. She will be missed by many. Bless her son Cecil and daughter in law Jan for taking such good care of her during these last years.
