Carolyn D. Barfield Mallard CHARLESTON - Carolyn D. Barfield Mallard, 76, Of Charleston South Carolina, passed away Friday, January 27, 2023 with her family at her side. Carolyn was born in Sumter, South Carolina to the late Julius and Pauline Barfield. She is the wife of the late Ernest Mallard. She is survived by her three brothers, Rudy Barfield, Bobby Barfield, and Ray Barfield; her longtime companion, Robert McMillan; her five children, Ernest "Ernie" Mallard (Nancy), Julius "Clint" Mallard (Susan), Carolyn Blocker (Thomas), Robin "Mallard" Hopper (Gary), Robert "Greg" Mallard (Jennifer Westendorff); one step-daughter, Lisa Tincher (Darrell); eleven grandchildren, Corey Mallard, Gregory Mallard, Heather Flynn, Justin Mallard, Zachory Mallard, Thomas K. Blocker, Kayla Johnson, Trever Mallard, Rachel Mallard, Brandon Mallard, Jennifer Werts; and fifteen great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, brothers, and sister. Carolyn was a home maker and a loving mother. Carolyn enjoyed music and dancing and she loved shopping and spending time with her family. There are not enough words to convey the impact she has made, not only on her family but all who knew her. She will live on forever in each of us and she will be missed eternally. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 5, 2023, from 1pm to 4pm at the Fellowship Society at 1035 Jenkins Road, Charleston South Carolina.
