Carolyn Kizer Obituary

Carolyn Kizer Edisto Island - Carolyn M. Kizer, age 96, of Edisto Island, South Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020. Carolyn was born October 8, 1924, daughter of the late Raymond J. Mathis and Emma Lillian Burress Kizer and wife of the late James Allen Kizer and mother of the late Carol Allinger. Survived by her daughter, Dixie Songer (Cliff), 6 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She was a charter member of the VFW Auxiliary for seventy-two years, 55 years at post 5091 , then transferred to post 3433 in 2003. There will be a graveside life well celebrated service. Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 2 pm at Carolina Memorial Gardens, 7113 Rivers Ave. North Charleston.
