Mrs. Howard was a long time member of the South Carolina Coalition for Voter Participation (SCCVP). She served as a prominent member of the organization, representing Dorchester County as a chapter executive committee member and later as a member of the state board of directors. She was always willing to share her experiences and knowledge for the betterment of the community at large. The organization will miss her, and we thank her family for sharing her with us.

Mrs Howard was a wonderful person. She was a no nonsense teacher and she taught lessons in and outside of the classroom. She was a stunning example of professionalism and black beauty. She was always poised and polished in everything she did. She was a wonderful example of possibilities and excellence in our community and beyond.
We are grateful for her legacy.
