Carole Rock Obituary

Carole Rock, 82, of Youngsville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully early on Sunday morning, September 7, 2025. Born on September 11, 1942 in Windsor, Vermont, Carole moved with her family to Massachusetts in 1954 and later graduated from Athol High School in 1960. In 1962, she married Richard G. Rock in Erving, Massachusetts, beginning a journey that would take her through Massachusetts, New York, Maryland, and ultimately settling in North Carolina. Carole and her late husband of 45 years co-owned R&R Furniture, where she enjoyed weaving traditional wooden baskets. A proud breast cancer survivor and eldest member of a family of black belts, Carole lived with resilience, strength, and joy. She found peace and happiness in her gardens and cherished the many evenings spent with dear friends on the deck, where laughter and stories filled the air. She is survived by her sons, Thomas Rock (Janet) of Charleston, SC and Daniel Rock (Kaye) of Little Rock, AR; her beloved grandsons, Chris Rock (Allison) and Mason Rock; and her siblings, Linda Whitehouse (Bill) of Youngsville, NC and Penni Menard (Tim) of Greenfield, MA. Carole was preceded in death by her husband Richard Rock (2007); mother, Virginia Bosworth (2008); her stepfather, Cecil Bosworth (1990); her brother, Ryan Bosworth (2023); her sister, Donna Hargett (2016). Carole will be remembered for her inner strength, her love of family and friends, and the laughter she shared with others.
