Carole Leigh McDaniel Martin CHARLESTON - Carole Leigh McDaniel Martin, 86, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of the late Rev. Charles J. Martin, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, September 16, 2025. Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, September 20, 2025, in the Ashley River Baptist Church, 1101 Savannah Hwy. at 11:30 am. The family will receive friends Saturday, at Ashley River Baptist Church, starting at 10:30 am. Burial will immediately follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel. Carole was born April 2, 1939 in Greenville, South Carolina, daughter of the late Fred McDaniel and Helen Cobb McDaniel. She was a graduate of Greenville High School and Anderson College. Carole began her career in Charleston at State Farm Insurance. She was a longtime distinguished member of Ashley River Baptist Church, often teaching Sunday school. She enjoyed all family events and social gatherings, and was a great storyteller. Carole was adored by many as a loving wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and will be fondly remembered by many as "Nana". She is survived by her children, Chip Martin (Dwayne), Camille Maull (Bernie), and Chris Martin (Jan); grandchildren, Madison Knox (Eric), Leighanne Martin (Kurt), Blake Maull (Alyssa), Brittany Maull (Nicole), Jacob DeGrace, Jordan Martin, Ty Martin, Cale Martin (Mayann), and Carter Martin (Ivi); great-grandchildren, Julia Ann Maull, Lakelynn Martin, and Colten Martin; nieces, Jennifer Martin, Jessica Martin (Tonya), Nikki Lynne Martin; and great-nephew, Johnathan Martin. In addition to her parents and husband of 54 years, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia Dawn Martin; brothers-in-law, Jimmy Martin, and Nick Martin. Memorials may be made to Ashley River Baptist Church. A memorial message may be sent to the family by visiting our website at www.jhenrystuhr.com.
