Carol Lee Beck SUMMERVILLE - Carol Lee (Pridgen) Beck, 87, of Summerville, wife of Norman Beck passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023, in Summerville. Carol was born October 19, 1935, in Whiteville, NC. She worked 23 years as a manager for the Avon Cosmetics Company. Carol loved playing and excelling at basketball, tennis, softball, and bowling. She lovingly challenged her 3 children, 9 grandchildren, and 7 great-grands to any board or card game, and Carol won most of the time! She loved people and made wonderful friends wherever the Air Force took she and Norman. Through her love for the Lord, love for Norman, love for family, and love for friends, Carol has touched many lives. She helped make this world a better place to be. As a young gal, Carol embraced Jesus Christ as her Savior and Lord. Over her lifetime, she expressed her great faith through church ministries that included teaching youth, Acteens, Training Union, and 1st grade Sunday School for 30 years. She supported Norman as a deacon's wife and loved singing in her church choir. For 50 years as a member of Summerville Baptist Church, Carol wholeheartedly and humbly devoted her time and worship. Our Carol is so very loved and will be missed by so many. Thank you for the memories to cherish! Carol was preceded in death by father, Howard Pridgen; mother, Opal Collier; and sister, Sandra Weavil. Carol is survived by her loving spouse of almost 67 years, Norman. Also, her daughters, Cyndy Lehmann (Ben) and Happy Nisson (Bill); her son, Tracy Beck (Robin); and her brother, John Collier. The family of Carol Beck expresses deep gratitude to caregivers, Diann Perry and Gentry Willis, as well as God's other earthly "angels". We thank the nurses and therapists from Interim Healthcare who added to the joy and quality of Carol's life. A memorial service to celebrate Carol's life will be Saturday, April 29, at 2:00 in the Dorchester Memory Gardens in Summerville. A 1:00 viewing will precede the service. Entombment will take place following the service. Rev. Tracy Beck and Rev. Ben Lehmann officiating.
