Carl Wolff Obituary

WOLFF, Carl Entered into eternal rest on February 15, 2006, Carl E. Wolff, Sr., widower of Caroline Ellsworth Wolff. Residence, Johns Island, SC. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral services in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, Saturday, February 18, 2006 at Eleven O'clock. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at STUHR'S WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL Friday from Six until Eight O'clock. Carl was born in Charleston, SC, December 31, 1911, the son of John Frederick Wolff and Henrietta Steffens Wolff. He served in the Merchant Marines for 15 years. He owned 2 grocery stores in downtown Charleston. He was a crane operator for the Charleston Naval Shipyard for 28 years. Upon retiring, he farmed on John's Island growing the sweetest corn in town and was known as the "sweet corn man". Carl loved his country and was very patriotic and dearly loved his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all. Surviving are his beloved children, Deborah M. Anderson and her husband M. Scott Anderson of Charleston, SC; 4 sons, Carl E. Wolff, Jr. and his wife, Virginia J. Wolff of Charleston, SC, John K. Wolff and his wife Ashley Wolff of Atlanta, GA, J. Frederick Wolff and his wife Sharon Wolff of Chicago, IL, and Harvey A. Wolff of North Charleston, SC; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Harold P. Wolff of Charleston, SC.
