C. Lupo Obituary

The Rev. C. J. Lupo, Jr. Greenwood - The Rev. C. J. Lupo, Jr., 90, a resident of Wesley Commons, Greenwood, died Tuesday, April 4, 2017. He is survived by his loving wife, Vera Canaday Lupo, who was his helpmate for 65 years; his children, David E. Lupo (Terry) of Mt. Pleasant, Donald W. Lupo of Tampere, Finland, and Janet Lupo Kerr (Robert) of Columbia; three grandsons and two granddaughters and their spouses; and two great granddaughters. As a member of the SC Annual Conference, he served as pastor of a number of churches across the state. He was the pastor of Hibben United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant and the First United Methodist Church on the Isle of Palms from 1950-55, was a delegate to four General and Jurisdictional Conferences and served on the General Board of Pensions and was a member of the World Division of the Board of Global Ministries. He also served on a number of boards and committees of the Annual Conference. A memorial service will be at held at 2 p.m. Monday in Asbury Hall at Wesley Commons. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Wesley Commons for the Resident Support Fund, 1110 Marshall Road, Greenwood, SC 29646 or to the C. J.
