Like everyone, I am shocked and saddened to hear the passing of Brenda. We met in the early 1990's and remained friends through her retirement. She became my spirit lifter after learning of my special need daughter and later my adopted daughter. She always had the right thing to say when it came to them. I will always remember the times we spent in the East garage before leaving for home. Rest in eternal peace.

My deepest condolences to the family. Brenda became a close and dear friend to me while working at DOL. We remained great friends after she retired and talked often. She was my 2nd mother and best friend rolled into one. I could always count on Brenda for a good laugh and conversation. She sincerely cared about people and would put the concerns of others before herself. Brenda had big and unselfish heart. Sweet dreams my friend...I miss you.

My heartfelt condolence to the family of Brenda Tollerson. I met Brenda in 1995 when I started with the Department and always remember her kind and caring personality. My 18 year old daughter helped me move from Arizona to DC and Brenda told me I had a beautiful daughter. Every time we had to chance to talk she would always ask about my family, with her usual positive and exited voice. She will be missed by all of us she touched with her kindness.

Ms. Brenda was one of the first people I met my first day at DOL 16 years ago. She had such a kind soul and took her time and showed me the ropes. Rest in Paradise Ms. Brenda. Gone but never forgotten.

I am so very sad to hear about Brenda. She was one of my favorite people at ETA. I will always remember her love for her grandson, on whom she lavished much love and attention. And she was so thoughtful in countless other ways. I will miss her.

My deepest sympathy goes out to Brenda's family. When I moved from Dallas, TX to D.C. to begin my federal career I was homesick because I didn't have any friends or family nearby. But when I walked in the office each morning Brenda alway lifted my spirits with her kindness and humor. Brenda took care of me in the office until I learned my way around. I will never forget her. She is with the Lord now.

I just heard the sad news. Brenda gave me a dictionary during my first week at DOL in 1985. She inscribed it to me, and I have carried it ever since. I will treasure my memories of being her colleague for 23 years, and will think of her often as I have since I last saw her in 2008.

To Brenda's family and friends - I worked with Brenda years ago in the Indian programs at DOL. She was not only a colleague but a friend. I am deeply saddened to hear of her passing, but comforted by the thought that she lived a good life and had the respect of friends. Passing is the changing of worlds--may she be on a good path to the next. - Athena

Wow I will really miss Brenda. I worked with her at DOL. She used to call me "her cuz" and say that I was "pure as white snow." The last time I spoke with her was in 2011 when she told me she was retiring. She always had me laughing and she is putting a smile on God's face right now!
