You are not forgotten,
though on earth you are no more
Still in memory you are with us,
as you always were before
Mother who gave me
the best of her life, who cherished
my secrets, my sorrows
Who taught me to love,
who taught me to pray
Upright and just in all her ways,
loyal and true through all her days
Silently suffered, patiently bore,
God took her home
so she would suffer no more
I see her often in the shades
of sunset, the beauty of a star lily
brought to her home
As the children swing and
sing around the oak tree ring
At work thinking of times she called,
and now no more
I hear her in symphonic sounds
as her grandchildren
spin round and round
But most times I miss you in my
mind as you were our guide
A faithful compass against the
relentless waves of life’s change.
Love,
GRPIII
