Bonnie Jean Edwards SUMMERVILLE - Mrs. Bonnie Jean Edwards, 79, of Summerville, South Carolina passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2013. She was born October 11, 1933 in Horry County, SC, the daughter of the late J. Cross Shelley and the late Maggie Williams Shelley. She was the wife of James Levern Edwards. Bonnie was a member of Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, shopping and cooking for her family. Her family remembers her as a wonderful and colorful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by two brothers, G. P. Shelley and Jimmy Shelley; one sister, Margaret Lane. She was the last surviving member of her family. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, James Levern Edwards of Summerville, one son, Ronnie Edwards and his wife, Donna of Summerville. Five grandchildren, Rhonda Maples and her husband, James of Hanahan, Brett Edwards of Summerville, Kristi Andrews and her husband, Victor of Summerville, Amber Broad and her husband, Trent of Summerville, and Travis Lemon and his wife Miranda of Graniteville and twelve great grandchildren. A Funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of McAlister-Smith Funeral Home located at 869 St. James Avenue Goose Creek, South Carolina 29445. Entombment will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens, North Charleston, SC. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
