Bobby Ray Hinson, Sr. NORWOOD, NC- Bobby Ray Hinson, Sr. passed away Tuesday morning, January 20, 2015 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Friday, January 23, 2015 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Norwood. Rev. Max Walker will officiate and burial will follow at Norview Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 on Thursday evening at Edwards Funeral Home. Mr. Hinson was born January 21, 1932 in Rowan County to the late Robert Lee and Mittie Jane Drye Hinson. He was a Dyer Supervisor and retired from Kingstree Knit in Haw River, NC. He was a US Coast Guard Veteran and marched in the 1953 Eisenhour Inaugural Parade. He was also a member of the VFW Post 6183. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Eudy Hinson; one son, Bobby Ray Hinson Jr. and one daughter, Patricia Hinson Sweatt; two brothers, Billy and Frank Hinson, and one sister, Louise H. Tidwell. He is survived by his daughter, Cathy Hinson Sanner of Summerville, SC; brother Clarence Hinson of Norwood; four grandchildren, Crista Schultz, Rachel and Grayson Sanner, and Heather Leigh Sweatt; and one step-grandson, Austin Sanner.
