Bobbie Gatlin Obituary

Bobbie Rogers Gatlin CHARLESTON - Bobbie Rogers Gatlin, 77, of Charleston, SC, passed away on Wednesday, September 29, 2010, surrounded by her loving family at the Hospice Center of Charleston. Bobbie was born on April 20, 1933, in Lake View, SC. She graduated from Charleston High School in 1952, where she excelled in all sports to include, track, basketball and volleyball. She is survived by her children; James M. Gatlin, Robert B. Gatlin, Jack C. Gatlin (Anne), and DeDe Gatlin Tyler (Brian), all of Charleston, SC, three grandchildren; Robert E. Coltrane, Jr., of Cincinnati, OH, Charles D. Gatlin, III, of Round Rock, TX, and Elizabeth Gatlin, of El Paso, TX, one brother, Jack Rogers, of Statesville, NC, one sister, Jill Davis, of Charleston, SC, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; Stonewall Jackson Rogers and Nan Moody Rogers Campbell, two brothers; Ted Rogers and Ralph Rogers and one son, Charles D. Gatlin, Jr. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2010, at 1:00 pm, at Magnolia Cemetery Trust, 70 Cunnington Ave., Charleston, SC in the Greenhill section. Her family wishes to express their thanks and sincere appreciation to Dr. Spandorfer and Dr. Huet, and the nurses from Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital, the Hospice Center of Charleston, and the nurses and staff at Island Oaks Living Center in Johns Island for their loving care, attention and assistance in helping Bobbie through her final days. Memorial donations in Bobbie's name can be made to the Hospice Center of Charleston, 676 Wando Park Blvd., Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464, Pet Helpers, 1447 Folly Rd., Charleston, SC 29412 and the American Lung Association. The Gatlin family is being served by Palmetto Cremation Society, Charleston, SC. I am sorry to hear about Bobbie's passing. I have not seen or heard from her or Jill since I was a little kid, even though we are cousins. I think we lost touch when Aunt Nan die. Please accept my deepest sympathy. May GOD bless you and yours in this time of need.
