Bevvie Popivchak Obituary

POPIVCHAK, Bevvie Bevvie Manning Popivchak Estvie , 89, died peacefully at a local hospital on July 31, 2008, surrounded by family. She was born on the Charleston peninsula on June 29, 1919 and spent nearly every day of her life in the Charleston Lowcountry. Estvie was a member of the Circle Seven Club and a former board member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ. Widowed in 1961 and left with three young children, Estvie was rewarded later in life with her greatest joy- the love of her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, James R. Manning and Bevvie O. Manning, her husband, Andrew Popivchak, Jr., a brother, J.R. Manning, who died in infancy, a sister Mary Kirby; and a brother, Thomas Manning. She is survived by her daughter and caregiver, Pamela Wright of Charleston, SC, her daughter, Karen Tieman of Indianapolis, IN, her son, Andrew Popivchak III of Hollywood, SC, her sisters, Dessie Davis and Theresa Presnell of Charleston, SC, her brother, Robert Manning also of Charleston, SC, six grandchildren, Aubrey Murray, Heather Tieman, Nicholas Wright, Christopher Tieman, Haley Wright and Tristan Tieman, and two great-grandchildren, Cooper and Campbell Murray. Friends may call in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, Sunday evening, August 3, 2008, from five to seven o'clock. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at a graveside service at Live Oak Memorial Gardens on Monday, August 4, 2008, at 10:00 o'clock. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, 1293 Orange Grove Rd., Charleston, SC 29407.
