Beverly Beam Charleston - Beverly Jean Beam, 65, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of Daniel Robert Beam, Jr., died Thursday, June 23, 2016. The family will receive friends Tuesday in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Her Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2016 in the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1695 Raoul Wallenberg Blvd., at 10:00 a.m. Interment following will be in Beaufort National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Beverly was born July 29, 1950 in Visalia, California, daughter of the late Harold Silcott and Josephine Ann Mattingly Silcott. She was a Librarian with the Charleston County Library System. Beverly is survived by her husband of 40 years; daughter, Katherine Beam Ford (Joshua) of Kernersville, NC; son, David Melton of Aloha, OR; two sisters: Janet Bedwell of Lincoln, CA; Nancy Sharpe of Yuba City, CA; brother, James Silcott of Sacramento, CA; grandson, James Robert Beam Ford of Kernersville, NC; brother-in-laws, Keith Beam (Nancy); Kelly Beam (Sylvia), and a mother-in-law, Anna Beam, all of Charleston, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Charleston Friends of the Library, 68 Calhoun Street, Charleston, SC 29401. Beverly will be missed by friends and family. She was a faithful friend and co-worker of mine for over 10 years. I am glad I had the chance to know her. We shared a lot of laughs over the years. Keeping all her family in my prayers.

I had the pleasure of hiring Beverly to work at St. Andrews Regional Library. She was an excellent worker, very kind hearted and sweet. I am so sad to hear of her passing. Another angel has entered heaven and I am sure that she is there smiling. Rest in his loving arms Beverly until we meet again.

BEVERLY was the mother of my daughter's BFF. We two exchanged our children from time to time through the years and enjoyed our friendship via their friendship. When I last spoke with Beverly it was about our kids, as always. She reminded me of their elementary years and how different, yet alike, our daughters were then. I am stricken with shock at her passing and wish for her family to know that I will always consider our two families linked at the heart.

When a family member passes it is memories we keep. I remember when Cathy was little I was over my Aunt Anna's, Beverly would come by after
Church with Cathy. She was a good person I am glad to have known her.
