Betty Sheffield Obituary

Betty Eloise Sheffield MT. PLEASANT - Betty Eloise Sheffield, born on March 31, 1928 in Washington County, MD, died on Friday, December 4 in Mount Pleasant. She was the daughter of Lewis D. and Delma M. Shankle and was married to Charles D. Sheffield for over 50 years. She raised her family, and lived most of her life, in Fredrick, MD. She was a dedicated member of The Church of the Brethren in Frederick, teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She was an active member of the United Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She moved to Mount Pleasant, SC in 1997 to be closer to family. She enjoyed traveling and was dedicated to her family and friends. She took pride in her cooking and enjoyed sharing her gift with others. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Davis Sheffield; and brothers Roger E. Shankle and Robert Shankle, and is survived by her daughters, Sharon Good and husband Jim, Donna Reid and husband Steven; grandchildren Nathan Reid, Liz & John Townsend Cooper, Andy Good, Stephanie & Craig Paquette, Sarah and Robbie Beebe, and David and Sarah Good ; and great-grandchildren Elliott Kate and John Reid Cooper, Chase Paquette and Sammy Budde. Also surviving are her sisters, Charlotte Gaver and husband Paul, and Janice Draper; her brothers Rodney Shankle and wife Marcia, and Terry Shankle and wife Debbie, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. Aunt Betty was such a big part of my young life that her memory will stay with me for ever, and my love for her will always be strong. I think of her beloved children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren each day and pray for all.
