Alvin R. Snyder
Alvin Robert Snyder, 77, formerly of Wilson Borough, died peacefully after a long illness in Cedarbrook on Friday, November 4, 2005. Born June 30, 1928 in Bangor, he was a son of the late Alvin and Flossie (Lambert) Snyder. He was a graduate of Bangor High School, class of 1947. After 30 years of service, he retired from Bethlehem Steel Corp. as a high tension electrical inspector and member of the Loop Gang. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Bethlehem Township, a member of the Four County Fire Association, a life member of the Wilson Borough Fire Department, a member of the American Legion, E.H. Evans Post 378 Home Association in Bangor, a retired honorary member of United Steel Workers Union 3599, and an Army veteran of the Korean War in the Signal Corps. Survivors: Wife, Edith (Tompkins) Snyder; daughter, Edith Gray of Whitehall; granddaughter, Carolyn Gray of Whitehall; nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Paul and Arty Snyder, died earlier. Services: memorial, 11 a.m. Monday November 7, 2005 in Calvary United Methodist Church, 4411 Green Pond Road, Bethlehem Township. Auer Memorial Home and Cremation Services will be in charge of arrangements. Contributions: To the FIremens Relief Fund of Wilson Borough or Calvary United Methodist Church.

Edie, sorry for your loss. It is never easy when you lose a parent, I know. Hope you find comfort in knowing he is at peace in heaven watching over you and Carolyn. Be strong and know he will always be with you.
