Betty Mulling Obituary

Betty Bloodworth Mulling N. CHARLESTON - Betty Bloodworth Mulling, age 90, died on February 15, 2023. A long-time resident of Hanahan, SC, Betty resided at the Life Care Center of Charleston at the time of her death. Betty was born on April 11, 1932 in Orlando, Florida. She was the daughter of the late F. Douglas Bloodworth and Claudia Vinson Bloodworth. Betty was a graduate of Brenau Academy, Gainesville, GA and received her BA degree from the College of Charleston. She worked as a Public Information Specialist at MUSC and Trident Technical College. Betty was an active member of Midland Park United Methodist Church. Betty was married to the late J. Frederick Mulling for 69 years. Betty and Fred shared a life-long love of music and books, and had a wide variety of other interests. They spent many happy days at Brookgreen Gardens and at the Charleston Spoleto Festival. Betty was a devoted friend to many. She could often be found calling to check on a friend or writing cards and letters to friends. Betty is survived by her son, Paul G. Mulling, several nieces and nephews, and a number of close friends. In addition to her husband, Betty was predeceased by her son, James F. Mulling, a sister, Katherine B. Fox, and brothers, Frank Bloodworth and Clinton Bloodworth. The burial and any memorial services will be private. The family suggests that memorial gifts be made to Midland Park United Methodist Church, 2301 Midland Park Rd., North Charleston, SC 29406. Visit our guestbook at legacy.com/obituaries/charleston

Betty was a long time patient here at Low Country ENT. She was always a very pleasant and grateful person to be with. I especially had a good relationship with her. She will be missed. My sincere condolences to her family, Philip.
