Betty Louise Lyerly RAVENEL, SC - Betty Lyerly, 83, of Charleston, SC, formerly of Kinston, NC, entered into eternal rest on September 5th, surrounded by her loved ones. Betty was born in Kinston, NC on April 8th, the daughter of the late Edward Quinn and Verdie Mae Quinn. Betty's greatest loves were her family, friends, reading, scrabble, music, art, the Science Channel and staying abreast of current affairs. Betty also attended Carolina Bay Church. Betty was predeceased by; her husband Walter A. Lyerly and her first husband Robert D. Wheeler, her sisters, Beck Hobby, Juanita Pruitt, Francis Turnage, and Sarah Hoak; and extended family members. Surviving are her children; Jeffrey Wheeler CA, Joseph Wheeler, SC, Patricia Wheeler, SC, and Renee' Homesley (Smitty) NC. Her grandchildren Nic Hollins (Mariel) Ted Hollins, Jarred Wheeler and "grand- daughter" Anna Sara Inthanonh and great-grandchild Devyn Odom. Memorial service; Holy Cross Cemetery, 604 Ft. Johnson Road, Charleston, SC 29412 September 15, 2018 at 1pm. After the service the family will receive friends at 3983 Berberis Ln. Ravenel, SC.
