Betty Janssen Obituary

JANSSEN, Betty Ms. Betty Janssen, age 80, of Charleston SC died Sunday, January 29th 2006 at a local nursing home. She was born in Charleston, SC to Charles F. Janssen and Dorothy Kracke Janssen on January 6th 1926. Ms. Janssen was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She worked as Director of the Heart Clinic at the Medical University of South Carolina for 35 years. She was a member of the Avondale Civic Club and enjoyed gardening and taking care of her wire-haired terriers. She is survived by her cousins: Van Fleming (Mary Alice) of Charleston SC, Grace Knoechel of Cincinnati OH, Leslie H. Harrelson (Jack) of Mt Pleasant SC, Maggie R. Harrelson of Mt Pleasant SC, Van R. Fleming (Terri) of Virginia Beach VA, Dennis A. Fleming (Beth) of Charleston SC, Keran Forman (Doug) of Columbia SC, Grace Koon (Jim) of Manning SC, Phyllis J. Fleming of Charleston SC, Lynn M. Tucker (Larry) of Charleston SC, Tami A. LaRoche of Charleston SC, Walter B. Knoechel (Diane) of Jacksonville FL, Judy L. Knoechel of Columbia SC, Jeanne West (Allan) of Columbia SC. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM this evening at the funeral home, with a Rosary Service at 7 PM. A Liturgy of Christian Mass will be held at 3:30 PM Wednesday, February 1st 2006 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Savannah Hwy, Charleston SC. Graveside services to follow at Bethany Cemetery, Charleston SC. The family is accepting flowers, or memorials may be made in Betty Janssen's honor to the charity of your choice.
