Betty Long Carrier Ladson - Betty Long Carrier, 74, of Ladson, South Carolina, wife of James "Jim" Allen Carrier died Monday, June 4, 2018. Funeral services will be held at a later date. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL. Betty was born February 24, 1944 in Whiteville, North Carolina, daughter of the late William Jesse Long and the late Anne Long. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Virginia Commonwealth University. Betty's career as a Registered Occupational Therapist included Cincinnati Children's Hospital, Southwestern Ohio Senior Services and Western Carolina Center in North Carolina. In 2010 she retired from the Charleston County School District. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Jim; son, Christopher Carrier (Sally Jeanne) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; daughter, Ashley Alwyn Carrier of Brooklyn, NY; two brothers, Jesse Long, Jr. of Arcadia, CA and Michael Long of Grover, NC; sister, Deborah Hoover of Stamping Ground, KY.
