Betsy Hatcher Obituary

Betsy (Bet) Hatcher GAFFNEY, SC - Betsy Dickerson Hatcher, 70, of 901 College Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born in Chester but raised in Mayesville, she was the beloved wife of William T. (Billy) Hatcher, Jr. and daughter of the late John Hugh Dickerson, Sr. and Elizabeth (Bessie) Bradley Dickerson. Mrs. Hatcher was a graduate of Mayewood High School, was a graduate of Trident Technical College, and retired from Nestle' of Gaffney. She was an avid bridge player and loved to shop. She was a member of Limestone Presbyterian Church and attended First Baptist Church where she was a member of the Freewill Sunday School Class. Surviving in addition to her husband is a son, Michael McElveen, and wife, Dena, of Summerville; a daughter, Trivette, of Greenville; a brother, John Hugh Dickerson, Jr. and wife, Hellene, of Sumter; a sister, Barbara Jackson and husband, Jack, of Florida; a granddaughter, Addison Bray McElveen; special caregivers and relatives, Dorcas Holman, Pamela Stukes and Teresa LeMaster. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Blakely Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at Oakland Cemetery with Rev. Tommy Huddleston, Rev. Tommy Comer and Rev. Roy Mathis officiating.
