Bessie Elliott Obituary

Bessie T. Elliott NICHOLS, SC - Bessie T. Elliott, 81, of Nichols passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Loris Nursing Center in Loris with her family by her side. She was born in Horry County, a daughter of the late Thurman Hampton and Creacy Holt Turner. She was a member of Calvary Freewill Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday School Teacher and member of the Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Elliott was predeceased in addition to her parents by her husband, Thurman Elliott; two daughters, Susan Elliott Grant and Francine Elliott; three stepbrothers, Oliver and Howard Fowler and L.J. Hardee; one sister, Dessie Turner Rushing; a great-grandchild, Tyler Caldwell, and her stepmother, Maude Turner. She is survived by one son, Glenn (Sue) Elliott of Moncks Corner; one daughter, Creacy (Eddie) Brogdon of Nichols; two brothers, Proctor "Bill" Turner of Conway, and Carson (Linda) Turner of Nichols; four grandchildren, Ronald Elliott, Kimberly Walker, Rachelle Rhodes and Jill Marshall; five great-grandchildren, Haley Walker, Andrew Walker, Lexis Rhodes, Lindsay Rhodes, and Alex Marshall. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m., Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Meares Funeral Home in Mullins. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 3, 2015 in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will follow at Elliott Cemetery in Nichols.
