Bernice Ackerman Obituary
ACKERMAN, Bernice ANDREWS - Bernice Wilson Ackerman, 89, died Tuesday, January 3, 2006, at Williamsburg Regional Hospital in Kingstree. Mrs. Ackerman was born in Georgetown County near Andrews on March 23, 1916, the daughter of Marion C. Wilson and Ada Blakely Wilson. She grew up in the Oceda Community of Georgetown County and was a graduate of Andrews High School. Mrs. Ackerman was the last Charter Member of Earle United Methodist Church, where she was pianist for many years. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women, the Wednesday morning bible study group, and a former member of the Administrative Board of the Church. Mrs. Ackerman was a member of the Forever Young Group at Trinity United Methodist Church, the Harmony Cemetery Committee, and a former member of the Rosemary Garden Club. She was the widow of William Ellerbe Ackerman. Surviving are: two daughters, Gail A. Morris and her husband Walker and Elaine A. Brown and her husband Darrell, all of Andrews; three sons, W. Ellerbe Ackerman, Jr. and his wife Inga, Johnny H. Ackerman and his wife Kay, and Wilson H. Ackerman and his wife Willa, all of Andrews; a brother, Francis M. Wilson of Kingstree; ten grandchildren, Joey Morris and his wife Daphne, Kathy McCutcheon and her husband Mark, Cheryl Brown, Ryan Morris and his wife Michele, Dennis Brown and his wife Stacy, Tamara Moore and her husband Travis, Trey Ackerman and his wife Shannan, Timothy Ackerman and his wife Elaine, Kristy Ackerman, and Jay Ackerman; and eleven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 5, 2006, at three thirty o'clock in Earle United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. J. Robert Huggins and the Rev. Sandra Stevens Poirel.
