We are saddened at the news of Bernett's passing. He was a true servant of the Lord and was an inspiration to all who had the joy of knowing him. I recall vividly as Minister of Music at First Baptist of Timmonsville serving with him and not only planning the weekly services but also his great desire to serve beyond the pulpit. He was a people person and not only talked the talk but walked the walk. Unfortunately, it has been almost 20 years since I last saw him at Shoney's in Summerville and he was his always upbeat jovial loving self. Your family was blessed to have such a loving Husband, Father and Grandfather. May the days ahead bring you peace and comfort in knowing that he is with his Lord and Saviour. Draw upon the wonderful memories of him and he will live on in your hearts forever.

Trish and I send our love and prayers your way. Growing up and hearing so much about your Dad, and the few times I had to meet him, I remember most vividly his walk with the Lord and his humbling way he shared the Lord with everyone. Now, he is walking on streets of gold free of pain and illness. We will continue to pray! With our love. David and Trisha Malphrus

Thinking of the family in their loss. At the same time thinking of the homecoming and the rejoicing in Heaven. I only got to see him once in the last several years, but it was always a pleasure seeing Mr. Bernie and talking to him on campus and at church. I hurt for not be able to see and talk to my own mom and dad, but it would be selfish to wish them back to this fallen world. They are all happy and rejoicing together today!

Richard, Michelle, Jonathan and Chris. Words cannot ever express the sympathy of a loved one especially a parent/grandparent. We are blessed to have them for as long as we do, and like they have to let us go when we mature we must let them go also but cherish every good and bad moment God gave us. May Jesus wrap his arms around you and your family and know He is in the arms of Jesus having the best time of his entire life! Love you guys.

To the Waitt family.
I'm so sorry for your loss, but have hope! This is not even close to a good bye, just a short "see you soon"! I'll be praying for peace and comfort to you all.
