Bera Johnson Obituary

JOHNSON, Bera AYNOR - Bera Jane Johnson, age 84, widow of the late E.L. Johnson died Sunday, April 2, 2006 at Marion County Medical Center. Mrs. Johnson was born in Mullins, SC, a daughter of the late Ebb and Cornie Goff Johnson. Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker and member of Happy Home Baptist Church where she had taught childrens classes & was involved for more than 50 years with WMU. Mrs. Johnson was predeceased by, her step-mother, Belle Jones Johnson; four brothers, Major M. Johnson, Leon M. Johnson, Ebb Johnson, Jr. and Lester Johnson; two sisters, Mary J. Johnson and Lorine J. Evans Surviving are four sons, James M. Johnson and his wife Vera of Florence, SC, Kenneth E. Johnson and his wife Jean of Conway, SC, David O. Johnson and his wife Gail of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Travis O. Johnson and his wife Judy of Aynor, SC; two daughters, Vera J. Bennett of Moncks Corner, SC, Carolyn J. Drew of Aynor, SC; eleven granchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; four brothers, Joseph F. Johnson of Loris, SC, Roger D. Johnson of Winter Haven, FL, James B. Johnson of Galivants Ferry, SC, Randell W. Johnson of Nichols, SC; four sisters, Corine J. Lewis of Pensacola, FL, Shelby J. Herring of Nichols, SC, Shirley J. Mishoe of Pensacola, FL and Winnie J. Wise of Mullins, SC and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at Happy Home Baptist Church with the Rev. Micah Lane and Rev. Douglas Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Dear Johnson Children, Please accept my deepest condolence in the loss of your mother. Bera was my first cousin, Our mothers were sisters and we were almost the same age. Ny daughter Susan took me to see Bera a few years ago and we had a good visit. Bera took us to the cemetery and showed us the grave of our grand mother Goff. Please get me your mailing address. I want to keep in touch. I am almost homebound.Each of you have lost many loved ones and now you are ask to accept what we don't want too, that all of life is a work in progress and when that job is finished we will all receivebthat wonderful call, come home.My mother Ruby Goff Hardee passed 46 years ago. I pray that your faith will sustain each of you always.
