Benjamin Ward Summerville - Mr. Benjamin Warren Ward, 90, of Summerville, SC died Monday, February 22, 2016. A graveside memorial service will be Friday, February 26, 2016 at 11:30 AM in Summerville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Ben's name to Summerville Presbyterian Church, 407 S. Laurel St., Summerville, SC 29483. Ben was born April 8, 1925 in Goldsboro, NC. He graduated from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he was an All American Swimmer. He was a member of Summerville Presbyterian Church. Ben is survived by his wife, Rosemary Salisbury Ward; children, Cindi Moore (Dave), Linda Ripepi, Carol Burquette (Mark), Kim Hassold (Rob), and Jack Harper (Natasha); brother, Don Ward; and 7 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Mattie Fussell Ward and William Albert Ward. My sincere condolences to this wonderful family. I got the pleasure of meeting Mr Ben and speaking with him a bit, just recently, and he was the most joyful man. Such a kindhearted man. Ms Rosemary, my prayers are with you, as well as your children and grandchildren.
