Benjamin Larvie N. Charleston - Benjamin D Larvie I, age 95, of N. Charleston, South Carolina, passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022. Benjamin is survived by his daughters, Barbara Mastin, Andrea Hannon, Cynthia Larvie Hannah, and Chandra Conde; his grandchildren, Jessica Mastin, Jason Hannon, Sharmon Hannon, J. Benjamin Hannah, Jacob Larvie, Raechel Larvie Tracy, Benjamin Larvie III, Lauren Larvie, Nate Larvie, Mark Conde, and Juan Conde. He is also survived by a brother, Francis Larvie (Navy); and a sister, Fleeta Larvie. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Benjamin is preceded in death by his loving wife, Ester Marie Larvie; and his two sons, Arthur E. Larvie and Benjamin Larvie II. He is also preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and one sister. Benjamin was born in South Dakota and as a Lakota Sioux Native, he grew up on the reservation. He was a member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe. Benjamin was a WWII Veteran who served in the United States Navy as a Gunners Mate. He was stationed aboard several ships in the Pacific Theater along with his brother Arthur Larvie. After being medically discharged from the Navy, he went onto work as a Civil Servant with the Naval Underground Warfare System. Once he retired from Civil Service, he went on to work as a Security Guard at the original Charleston Airport and at Radio Shack. Benjamin will be forever loved and missed by those who knew him. On Friday October 7, 2022, a graveside service with Military Honors will be held at Carolina Memorial Gardens, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, South Carolina 29406 at 11:00 am. Following the service, a memorial celebration will be at the Fleet Reserve Assoc. Branch 269, 99 Wisteria Road, Goose Creek, South Carolina.
