Although I did not know Rev. Bass, I did know his granddaughter Lisa. We were classmates at Remount Road Elementary School. I am very sorry to hear of his passing and my prayers are with the family.

Dear Margie and Mary,
My earliest memories of Ben are at Grandma Dew’s house. He always sat down at the piano and played “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” and “Onward Christian Soldiers.” He loved to recount vivid tales of his Aunt Annie's influence and never came for a visit that he didn’t have a little brown bag in his hand filled with bubble gum. He was always interested in everyone else and loved to tease in a good-natured way. Even as his health declined, he recalled in detail numerous earlier conversations. Ben always greeted us with a smile--both with his mouth and with his eyes. We will miss him, too.
Love,

My deepest sympathy is extended to the family of the late Rev. Benjamin Bass. I am a former longtime student of Mary Bass Quinney and recall numerous conversations about the wonderful life of her dad and his work as a minister, father and husband. May the Lord be your comfort and strength - May his love sustain you and give you hope for the future. I also wish to leave this scripture with you:
" I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you."
John 14:18

My deepest sympathy to you and your family at the lose of Mr. Bass. He was my father and mother's pastor at Indiantown Presbyterian Church. I am the youngest daughter of the last Jasper and Ettie Tanner. My father often talked about fishing with Mr. Bass in Wilson Lake and Mr. Henry Nelson's pond and also at Mr. Ervin's pond. Those were great days for him to talk about.

My deepest sympathy is extended to the family in the loss of Reverend Ben Bass. We were students together at USC. We shared some of the same classes. He was deeply committed to his calling and served His Lord well. He assisted me in many ways.
