We just heard of Ben's passing today. We are the parents of Bond Hopkins who attended SMU and was a fraternity brother of Ben's. We live in Memphis and Bond who lives in Cairo where he works for an oil company e-mailed us early this morning so upset over hearing about your great loss. Being in Egypt Bond feels bad that he just found out. Please know that all of the Hopkins family send the entire Burris family our deepest sympathy and prayers a this difficult time. I was fortunate to have been friends with Ben throughout this past year. There are very few people in the world who spoke truer words and showed the kindness that Ben did. He was an example to all of us on how to conduct our daily lives. I could never forget Ben and I know he will be with all of his loved ones in spirit. I lost touch with Ben over the years, but he was an integral part in much of my life. Many of my earliest memories are of birthday parties, baseball games, and play dates with Ben. I find myself quite shaken by the news of his death.

One brief moment and all will be as it was before - only better, infinitely happier and forever - we will all be one together with Christ.
