Beatrice Ryan Obituary

Beatrice A. Ryan, 76, of Latrobe, died Friday, Sept. 2, 2016. Born July 3, 1940, in Bradenville, she was a daughter of the late Thomas R. Leary and Ruth (Hill) Leary Wagner. Beatrice had been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Latrobe. Over the years, she was employed at Nicholas Bakery and Restaurant and at Latrobe Area Hospital. She was also an avid gardener and enjoyed reading. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Bill Nicholas; her second husband, John Ryan; two brothers, Thomas E. Leary and James R. Leary; and two sisters, Betty Schwarz and Dolores "Mitzi" Sherba Hazlett. Beatrice is survived by one daughter, Beatrice R. (Nicholas) Sundry, of Latrobe; two sons, Thomas R. Nicholas, and his wife, Carole, of Orangeburg, S.C., and Michael Nicholas and his wife, Carolyn, of Cumming, Ga.; three sisters, Sally E. Espinoza, of Chula Vista, Calif., Margaret S. Welsh, of Latrobe, and Eleanor R. Fagan and her husband, George, of Latrobe; four grandchildren, Stacie (Sackandy) Driscoll and her husband, Rob, Nicholas Sundry, Laina Sundry and her companion, Daniel Bortz and Jacob Nicholas; and six great-grandchildren, Maddison, Brenna, Andrew, Rowan, Molly and Emilia. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the City of Latrobe Police Department, Latrobe Volunteer Fire Department and their rescue team, for all of their efforts and care.
Family and friends will be received from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. A funeral service will be held at noon Wednesday in the funeral home, with the Rev. Jeffrey Schock officiating. Interment will be private.
