Beatrice Ackerman Obituary

ACKERMAN, Beatrice COTTAGEVILLE - Mrs. Beatrice Jordan Ackerman, widow of the late Jefferson Cohen Ackerman, Sr., died Friday evening at Trident Medical Center in Charleston. She was 90. Mrs. Ackerman was born in Colleton County, February 25, 1917, a daughter of the late Lester P. Jordan, Sr. and Annie Muckenfuss Jordan. She was a retired employee of the Charleston Naval Shipyard, and was a member of the Cottageville United Methodist Church. She is survived by a son, Sidney Ackerman of James Island, three grandchildren, Julie Ackerman, Tiffany Seay, and Jeff Ackerman, and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Ackerman was preceded in death by her son, Jefferson "Jay" Ackerman, Jr. and her brother, Lester P. Jordan, Jr. She is also survived by the wife of her late son, her daughter-in-law, Bette B. Ackerman of North Charleston. Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 11:00 in the Chapel of Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, with burial following in the Ackerman Cemetery at Red Oak. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00, Monday, at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the Cottageville UMC, 44 Pierce Road, Cottageville, SC 29435. I am very sorry to hear of your loss. I am thinking of you all. Haven't seen you in a long time but think of you each time I pass your house going to my parents. I have wonderful childhood memories being at your home and miss you all.
