Bays Cutting Obituary

CUTTING, Bays Mrs. Bays Elizabeth Dannelly Dennis Cutting, 97, of Ehrhardt, died Friday, December 10, 2004, at Bamberg Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held 11 o'clock Monday, December 13, 2004, in St. James United Methodist Church, directed by the Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Homes, Ehrhardt-Bamberg Chapel. Interment will follow in Ehrhardt Cemetery. Mrs. Cutting was born July 7, 1907, in Ehrhardt, South Carolina and was a daughter of the late John McKewn Dannelly and Martha Victoria Belvin. She was first married to the late Laney McEvoy Dennis and secondly to the late Elmer James Cutting. She was a retired office manager from Westinghouse. She was the oldest member of St. James United Methodist Church. She was a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Daughters of the American Revolution, United Methodist Women, and the Ehrhardt Garden Club. Surviving are: her grandchildren, Bays Victoria Dennis Zajd and her husband Leonard John Zajd, Jr., of Hampton, Virginia, and Elizabeth Dennis Pace and her husband Wesley F. Pace of Evans City, Pennsylvania; great-grandchildren, James Charles Zajd, Dennis Sylvester Pace, and Patricia Louise Pace Eaton and her husband Larry D. Eaton; nephew, Jess Burney "Bud" Dannelly and his wife Wendy J. Lamp Dannelly; grandnephews, Russell Dannelly "Danny" Hackney and his wife Maxine Hackney, John Andrew "Andy" Hackney and his wife Gill Neeley Hart Hackney, Jess McKewn Dannelly, and Travis Ralph Dannelly; and great-grandnieces, Leslie Ann Hackney and Neeley Ann Hackney. She was preceded in death by a son, Charles Lucas Dennis and his wife, Mary Louise Shuler Dennis. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to: St. James United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 189, Ehrhardt, S.C. 29081. Family and friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m., Sunday, at the BRICE W. HERNDON AND SONS FUNERAL HOME, EHRHARDT-BAMBERG CHAPEL, 2515 Lowcountry Highway, Ehrhardt. 803-267-1971. The family will also gather at the home of Andy and Gill Hackney, 13530 Broxton Bridge Road, Ehrhardt, S.C. 29081.
