Barry Alan Abrams SUMMERVILLE - Barry Alan Abrams, 75, of Summerville, SC, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, January 16, 2023. He was a devoted husband to the late Kathleen Durant Abrams who passed away in 2020. Family and friends are invited to a combined memorial service for Kathleen and Barry Abrams Friday, February 3, 2023 at 11 o'clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home 303 S. Main Street, Summerville, SC 29483. Barry was born in Charleston, SC on the 16th of August 1947 to the late Robert Abrams and Lillian Abrams. He graduated North Charleston High School and then served in the Army during the Vietnam War. After which he joined the United States Coast Guard where he retired. He went on to work for Milcom (SPAWAR) as a defense contractor. Barry loved to fish, watch football and was an avid reader. You would always see a book in his hands. But most of all, he loved spending time with the family. He is predeceased by his sons, Christopher Abrams (Susan Abrams) and Matthew Abrams (Melissa Eadie). Mr. Abrams is survived by his daughter, Sara Abrams (Robert Shepherd) and his grandchildren, Faith Abrams, Tristan Abrams, Jonah Abrams, Maddie Abrams, Brianna Abrams and Braden Shepherd. Barry is also predeceased by his brother, Dr. John Abrams and is survived by his sister, Deborah Callicutt and brother, Thomas Abrams.
