Barbara Ellen Shuler Weeks CHARLESTON - Barbara Ellen Shuler Weeks, 91, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Joshua Sovreign Weeks, Jr., went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, April 16, 2023. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 24, 2023 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Her Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, April 25, 2023 in the James Island Baptist Church at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Barbara was born August 7, 1931 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Rubin Asbury Shuler and Barbara Ellen Grimes Shuler. She grew up on James Island and was a member of James Island Baptist Church. She met Joshua, the love of her life, there, and was married at age 18. She dedicated her life to the Lord and her family. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Weeks Honeycutt (Bill); sons, David Joshua Weeks (Joy), and Daniel William Weeks (Jennifer). She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Both Barbara and Joshua were blessed with 7 grandchildren: Trey Truluck (Kelly), Kimberly Truluck-Hamilton, Leila Weeks, Josh Weeks, Taylor Weeks, Cooper Weeks, and Quinn Weeks. In addition to the 7 grandchildren, they also enjoyed 6 great-grandchildren: Alicia Truluck, Zachary Truluck, Kailyn Truluck, Malia Hamilton, Kaylee Hamilton, and Liana Hamilton. Barbara had 4 younger sisters, the late Mary Fleming, the late Julia Pearson, Sarah Hilton, and Carolyn Benton. Barbara had many nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family wishes to thank the Mt. Pleasant Visiting Angels for 8 years of devoted care. Honorable mention goes to Floee Richards and Denise Wilson, who showed such constant faithful loving care to Barbara. The family also wishes to thank Gentiva Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Barbara's memory to James Island Baptist Church.
