Barbara Robbins Obituary

Barbara Mathews Robbins CHARLESTON - Barbara Frances Mathews Robbins, age 91, Charleston, South Carolina, passed away on June 5, 2024, from complications of a stroke at Agape Hospice House. She was born March 29, 1933, in Charleston, S.C., the daughter of Frank H. Mathews and Mildred T. Mathews. Barbara graduated from Memminger High School, Class of 1951. Married to Kenneth Hamilton Robbins, Sr. in 1951, she became a Housewife. In later years, she became a Dental Hygiene Assistant at MUSC Dental College, Faculty Practice. Barbara was a member of Saint Matthews Lutheran Church in downtown Charleston. Loved life, traveling, taking countless photos and creating friendships wherever she went. In addition to her parents, predeceased by a sister, Marthann M. Hutchinson. Along with the surviving son, Kenneth H. Robbins, Jr. and partner, Alton Adams; daughter, Barbara Susan Robbins Keefer and husband, Loyd L. Keefer, Jr.; two grandchildren, Christopher M. Robbins and his partner, Christopher S. Hancock; granddaughter, Natosha Danielle Keefer. A Celebration of Life service will be held on July 2, 2024, at Saint Matthews Lutheran Church; 401 King Street, Charleston, S.C. Service time will be held at 11am.
