Barbara Rion Obituary

Barbara Rion Mt. Pleasant - Barbara Hawkins Rion, a resident of Franke at Seaside, Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, formerly of Hartsville, South Carolina, died May 19, 2021. Barbara was born April 30, 1934 in Union County, South Carolina, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Downey Hawkins. She was a graduate of Union High School class of 1952 and attended the South Carolina Medical School of Nursing for two years. Barbara was married to the late James Henry Rion and is survived by her sons, James Henry Rion Junior (Jackie) and wife, Jean of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, and William Lee Rion (Bill) and wife, Donna of Hollywood, Florida; daughter, Amanda Rion Gainey and husband, Scott Gainey of Hartsville, South Carolina; grandchildren, Caroline Rion of Sullivan's Island, South Carolina, William Rion, Jr. and Aubrey Rion of Hollywood, Florida, and Allyson Tyner of Hartsville, South Carolina; and great-granddaughter, Rion Wingard of Sullivan's Island, South Carolina. Interment will be held in the Memory Garden of Saint Bartholomew's Episcopal Church on May 22, 2021, at 1:00 PM, in Hartsville, South Carolina. Memorials may be made to Saint Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, 103 Campus Drive, Hartsville, South Carolina 29550, or to the Employee Appreciation Fund, Franke at Seaside, 1500 Franke Drive, Mount Pleasant, South Carolina 29464.
