Barbara Bright Obituary

Barbara Elders Bright SUMMERVILLE - Barbara Elders Bright, 66, of Summerville, SC, died Friday, February 11, 2011, peacefully at home. Born February 26, 1944, in Columbia, SC, she was one of three children of Willie and Ivory Scott Elders. Barbara was a former employee of Stokes Honda and Jones Ford. She was a member of the New Covenant Church of God, North Charleston. Barbara is survived by her husband of 48 years, Frank M. Bright of Summerville; two sons, Michael Bright and his wife Judy of Swainsboro, GA, and Kenneth Bright and his partner Andy Cockman of Charlotte, NC; sister-in-law, Brenda Elders of Charleston; niece, Lynn Whipple and her husband Greg and their daughter Lauren of Charleston; five grandchildren, Tyler, Ryan and Lyle Bright all of Colorado and Hannah and Elijah Bright both of Charlotte, NC. She was preceded in death by her brother Willie Elders and sister and her husband Ruby and Leonard Pritcher. The memorial service will be held in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, North Charleston, Monday, February 14, 2011, at 6:30 p.m. Following the memorial service friends and family are invited to the New Covenant Church of God, 2801 Ashley Phosphate Road, North Charleston for fellowship. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to caringbridge.org/visit/barbarabright or Odyssey Hospice, 5965 Core Road, Suite 603, North Charleston, SC 29406. I am so sorry for your loss. Barabara was a great person whom I considered a second mom. I will never forget all the wonderful memories I have of her while we worked together at Jones Ford and also those away from work.
