Barbara Bennett Obituary

Barbara Bennett MONCKS CORNER - Barbara S. Bennett, 95, of Moncks Corner, SC, passed away on October 5, 2023. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, and friend. Barbara was born on September 17, 1928, in Brooktondale, NY, and grew up attending local schools in the area. Barbara dedicated her life to her family and had a successful career as an accountant, even working for her own home business. She was a great homemaker and volunteered in various capacities, including as a pink lady at the local hospital, an EMS recorder volunteer, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, and a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader. In her free time, Barbara pursued her passion for art, using various media to create beautiful pieces. She was also a dedicated member of the Eastern Star for over 50 years and a member of the Ladies of the Shrine in Zephyrhills, FL. Barbara is survived by her daughter-in-law, Doris Bennett of Geneva, NY, and her children: Warren Bennett (Sally) of St. Marys, GA, William Bennett (Corinne) of Springdale, AR, and Susan Heins of Moncks Corner, SC. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Stacey Bennett of Romulus, NY, Jolene Davis (Scott) of Canastota, NY, Courtney Walker (Nick) of Amelia Island, FL, Robbie Bennett (Kasie) of South Jordan, UT, and Brodie Bennett (Lorel) of Yulee, FL. Barbara was a proud great-grandmother to Tommy, Madisyn, Rhett, Beau, Riley, and Palmer. Barbara was preceded in death by her brother, Warren Steenbergh; her true love, Robert Bennett; her granddaughter, Charlotte Bennett; and her son, Joseph Bennett. A service to celebrate Barbara's life will be held at Moncks Corner United Methodist Church, with details to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Relay For Life of Moncks Corner, Moncks Corner UMC, or Intrepid Hospice. Barbara will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace.
