Arturo Lopez Obituary

LOPEZ, Arturo WALTERBORO Mr. Arturo Lopez, 80, a resident of the Veteran's Victory House in Walterboro died Friday morning, December 14, 2007, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro. Funeral services will be held 10 o'clock Monday morning, December 17, 2007, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment will follow in Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro. Mr. Lopez was born August 31, 1927 in New York City, New York and was a son of the late Ladlislao Lopez and the late Carolyn Rubanco Lopez. He served his country in the United States Army as a Staff Sergeant during both the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam Era. He was of the Roman Catholic faith and was a retired clerk from Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. Surviving are: two brothers, Jaime Lopez and Eduardo Lopez both of Charleston; and nieces and nephews, Sherry Lopez, Robyn Lopez White, Tondelayo Phillips, Andre Lopez, Denise Lopez McNeil, Tina Lopez Turner, and Ricardo Lopez. Art was our favorite Meals on Wheels recipient. He was always so upbeat and so glad to see us. Christmas this year will not be the same without his Christmas cards he always gave each of us. He will be greatly missed by members of First (Scots) Presbyterian Church.
