Arthur Gordon Ward GOOSE CREEK - Arthur "Gordon" Ward, 78, of Goose Creek, husband of Winifred "Joan" Swain Ward died Friday morning, August 27, 2010, at Trident Medical Center. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at 2 o'clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel Summerville. Burial will follow at Plantation Memorial Gardens, Moncks Corner. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 until 8 o'clock Monday evening. Mr. Ward was born October 27, 1931, in New Cumberland, WV, son of the late William and Beatrice Sanford Fickes Ward. He was a graduate of New Cumberland High School. He was a veteran of the United States Navy retiring after 26 years. He later retired as a Nuclear Engineer Technician with the Charleston Naval Shipyard. He enjoyed fishing, and going to the shooting range. Survivors including his wife are: 3 sons and 2 daughters: James, Robert (Nancy), Lori (Jason), Linda (Robert) and Jeffery(Carol), 12 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
