Artie's "colorful" personality (and shirts...) will always stay in my mind and heart...he was a good man who truly cared about his family and those close to him...something that can never be forgotten by anyone who knew him...take care Artie...rest in peace...see you on the high ground

Robin & "the boys",

I grew up with Artie living in the next neighborhood. He was always a delight to "hang with" and was always very competitive in the pickup football and baseball games we would periodically play. Even though he was a year younger than me, I had alot of respect for Artie. My brother, Steve Griffin, kept me up to date on activities on James Island and there was always something going on with Artie and his love for ice hockey. With Artie's dedication to Fort Johnson Baptist Church, I know he had a true love for the Lord. I am confident Artie's final resting place is in Heaven with his Master by his side.

Our family and church in Charlotte has had you in our prayers for the last three weeks and will continue to prayer for your strength in this time in your life.

My thoughts, prayers and blessings are with you.

Dear Robin, Arthur, Donna & Debbie:

I am in shock reading of Artie's death. You were kind enough to employ me as a bookeeper back in the 1970's. This was in the days of Billy, Randy, Susan and Mac. At the time Robin, you were the beautiful young girl that Artie was engaged to.

I got a call that my father had a heart attack while I was there working one day, and Billy and Artie saw to it that I got to the hospital to see him safely, and took care of my car for me. I will never forget their kindness.

Artie was always so kind and charming. What a personality.I can only imagine what a delight your sons must be.

I am so sorry for your loss.

Mr. Arthur, hang in there, I know the loss of a child is the toughest. Please take pride in the adult he became. You were a large part of that.

I have fond memories of you all, and you are all in my prayers.

Mr. Crisp, Robin, Debbie and all branches of the Crisp family.

I feel very privileged to have known Artie and very sad to feel the pain of the earthly loss of Artie. Artie was a dynamic person that glowed with strength of character. My memories of all the great times on the river, in the game room and at the beach, run deep.

Every time I come home to Charleston and visit Folly Beach, I pass by the old neighborhood

and relive all those carefree times in memory and in stories I tell my children. Artie was and will always be loved by everyone that knew him. Please accept our sympathy and prayers.

Robin, Little Artie and Joseph,

Since getting that terrible phone call several weeks ago, we've prayed daily for all of you. We've spent hours remembering all of the great times our families have had together over the years...camping, boating, supper club...and going through old pictures, often laughing at Artie's antics. He was a great friend, always the life of the party, and ,even more, a loving husband and father. Artie truly never met a stranger, we imagine him up in heaven now...working the crowds and getting everyone's life story.

Lots of love,
