CMDR. Archie Earl Benton WADMALAW - CMDR. Archie Earl Benton, USN (Ret.), 88, of Wadmalaw Island, South Carolina, husband of Adra F. Benton, entered into eternal rest Friday, December 18, 2015. His Funeral and burial will be private. ARRANGEMENTS BY J. HENRY STUHR, INC. WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL. CMDR. Benton was born April 12, 1927 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of Edna Crawford Benton. He was a Commander in the US Navy and served for 31 years. He was a pilot during WWII, Korean War and Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife of 64 years; two sons, Archie Earl Benton, Jr. (Nancy Carol Richter) of Mars Hill, NC, Audwin J. Benton (Ann) of Wadmalaw, SC; three daughters, Adriana B. Carter (Scott) of Ladson, SC, Arlene B. Dean of Hollywood, SC, Alicia Edda Benton (Richard Bennett) of Johns Island, SC; two sisters, Donna B. Tovey of Texas, Beverly B. Bardi of Vero Beach, FL; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the charity of ones choice. Visit our guestbook at www.legacy.com/obituaries/ charleston
