Archibald Muckenfuss Obituary

Archibald A. Muckenfuss, Jr. Summerville - Archibald "Archie" A. Muckenfuss, Jr., 85, widower of Frances Blanton Muckenfuss, of Summerville, SC, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2016. Funeral Services will be Monday, April 18, 2016 at 11 AM at Summerville Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at Parks Funeral Home Sunday evening from 5-7 PM. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Boone's Creek Baptist Church, 264 Boone Creek Rd., Salem, SC 29676 or SC Mountain Music Preservation Society, 12278 Long Creek Hwy, Westminster, SC 29693. Archie was born May 22, 1930 in Augusta, GA, the son of Archibald A. Muckenfuss, Sr. and Kathleen Myrtle Campbell Muckenfuss. He served honorably in the US Air Force and retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard as a Civil Engineer. He loved model trains and listening to bluegrass music. Mr. Muckenfuss was a member of IPTAY (Clemson), Low Country Gem and Mineral Society and Coastal Carolina Camellia Society. He was a longtime member of Summerville Baptist Church. After retirement, he lived in the mountains of SC and was an active member of Boone's Creek Baptist Church. He was a supporter of Tamassee DAR School. He is survived by sons, Archie A. Muckenfuss, III and wife Brenda of Lexington, SC, and Gordon B. Muckenfuss and wife Lisa of Schertz, TX; daughters, Dianne M. Yost of Summerville and Sandra M. Russell and husband Bill of Gaithersburg, MD; grandchildren, Jenna Collard (Matt), David Russell, Ashley Clark (Terry), Shelby Simpson (Grey), Justin Yost (Beth), Ashleigh Yost, Carlyn Yost (Jesse), Rebekah Muckenfuss, Christopher Muckenfuss, Jonathan Muckenfuss and Victoria Muckenfuss; great-grandchildren, Peyton Collard, Rylee Collard, Emilee Collard, Nicholas Clark, Benjamin Clark, Tripp Simpson, Saylor Simpson and Gabrielle Yost.
