Anthony Mingione Obituary

Anthony "Tony" Mingione CHARLESTON - Anthony "Tony" D. Mingione, 65, of Charleston, SC, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023. Born on March 4, 1958 in Long Island City, NY, he was a son of Santia Pagan Mingione and the late Andrea Mingione. After growing up in New York, Tony moved to San Diego, where he met his loving wife, Lynn. They later moved to Charleston and welcomed their cherished daughter, Eva. Tony was known for his irreverent sense of humor, such as assigning people funny nicknames and his appreciation for slapstick comedy. He was an avid football and horseracing fan. In his younger years, he was a regular bicyclist for work and pleasure and his favorite outdoor locale was the desert. Tony was a serious audiophile, with an extensive collection of albums on vinyl. He enjoyed live concerts, particularly progressive rock artists, such as Peter Gabriel and King Crimson. His family will remember him as supporting them with loving acts of service and devotion. Besides his father, Tony is preceded in death by his beloved pets: Zippity, Rudy, and especially, Baxter. Tony is survived by his wife, Lynn Wener; daughter, Emily "Eva" Mingione; his mother, Santia Mingione and his sister, Lynn Mingione. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Unitarian Church in Charleston, 4 Archdale Street, Charleston, SC 29401. Tony was the electronic technician who most often diagnosed/ resolved issues on the machine I operated. He really knew his stuff. Also very knowledgeable on a lot things, especially music and film. A great dry sense of humor.
I missed him on his days off.
Miss you still Tony.

I was a friend of Tony`s and he surely will be missed by all his friends and family. We enjoyed going to Churchill Downs and Kaeeneland race track to see the thoroughbred race for many years. Tony had a great sense of humor and was always fun to be around. Bless you Tony.

I knew Tony as a coworker since 1995 and as a friend. We made many many trips to KY derby and other horse tracks from PA down to Fla. He loved his family dearly. Gonna miss you buddy.

I worked with Tony for his 3 years before retiring. He was funny, he was grouchy, he was someone that you looked forward to seeing everyday. He loved the classic rock concerts. He'd seen everybody in concert and loved talking about it! He had great stories of his days as a taxi driver in NY and the people he met. He was an expert Electronics Technician who will never be replaced. We all miss you Tony.
