Anthony Dawson Summerville - Anthony Sinclair Dawson, 72, of Summerville, SC, a retired manager of maintenance operations for the US Postal service, died Saturday morning at his residence. His memorial service will be 2:00 PM Saturday afternoon, August 26, 2017, in the CHAPEL OF DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 PM until the hour of service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 4530 Park Rd., Ste. 230, Charlotte, NC 28209. Mr. Dawson was born September 23, 1944, in Moncks Corner, SC, a son of Charles Hyot Dawson and Eva Phillips Dawson. He was a US Navy veteran and served during the Cuban Missile Crisis, and he was a former Mason. Mr. Dawson enjoyed fishing and especially loved spending time in the mountains. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Samantha L. Driggers, and was the widower of Mary Anne Hunter Dawson. Surviving are, his mother of Goose Creek; a daughter, Charlene Henricksen of Summerville; a sister, Mary D. Hughes of Aylette, VA; three brothers, Thomas H. Dawson of Goose Creek, Michael O. Dawson of Charleston, and Raymond Dawson of Goose Creek; four grandchildren, Drew Driggers, Mary Beth Driggers, Vincent Henricksen, and Zayne Henricksen; and two great grandchildren, Renligh and Carson Driggers.
